Sotheby's' June 12 The World of Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman sale features books from their own library, association copies, and move scripts, as well as the Brunswick 'Monarch' billiard table Newman had in his New York office and Woodward’s wedding dress.

Highlights include:

* Lalo Schifrin print depicting musical passages from famous film scores, inscribed on the back mat “To Paul Merry Xmas ’86 Tom Hanks.” Estimate $1,000 - 1,500

* Thornton Wilder's Our Town: A Play in Three Acts, with numerous lines underlined by Joanne Woodward (including “The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go"), upper wrapper boldly signed by Woodward, this her personal copy of the Acting Edition' of the play. Estimate $600 - 800 USD

* Mr. & Mrs. Bridge, two copies of the film script, annotated throughout by Paul Newman in ink and pencil, with one or two annotations by Joanne Woodward, plus paperback with bookplate signed by Joanne Woodward "Joanne & Paul Newman." Estimate $2,000 - 3,000

* The Sting film script and black and white photographic still, "Second Draft Screenplay" on title-page, dated 21 November 1972. Estimate $3,000 - 4,000

* Charles Dickens' Dealings with the Firm of Dombey and Son. October 1846-April 1848, a remarkably fresh set of Dombey and Son in original parts. Estimate $1,000 - 1,500

* F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, 1925, first edition. Estimate $2,500 - 3,500

* Joseph Heller's Catch-22, 1961, presentation copy of the large print edition, inscribed: "To Joanne & Paul Newman, For easier reading in our old age — if they'll let us get that far. Bless you both. Joe Heller 8/1/69". Estimate $500 - 800
